Not everyone needs custom orthotics. Custom orthotics are usually reserved for patients who have suffered with different foot or ankle pain and are not getting better with simple treatment plans.

This technology allows our doctors to make sure your custom orthotics are perfect. The precision and customization possible with 3D printing and scanning technology has been a huge game changer in us helping your feet feel their best.

  • Do I need a Custom Foot Orthotic?

    Not everyone needs custom foot orthotics, but if you have landed on this page you know you might be a candidate.

  • Does my insurance cover Custom Foot Orthotics?
    • Short answer is sometimes
    • Medicare does not cover custom functional foot orthotics (it does cover diabetic inserts but that is not what this is)
    • We recommend you call your insurance and ask them if the cover custom foot orthotics if you are not diabetic 
    • Insurance is not always forthcoming in telling the truth when it comes to what they cover 
  • How much should custom orthotics cost?
    • We verify your insurance but this is only a promise of payment. 
    • So we collect a $275 deposit that we will return after we are reimbursed by your insurance company
    • If your insurance does not cover the orthotics the self pay discounted rate is $550 compared to the insurance charge of $1100
    • This price of the $550 includes the first follow up visit after the 2 week break in period. It covers the materials and cost of fabrication. Remember our orthotics are made with state of the art technology, are made by the doctors and have a very quick turn around within days you can be in your new orthotics!

  • How Long Does It Take To Get the Orthotics After Casting?

    Because this technology is so cutting edge it totally streamlines this process.  If you are casted on a Monday we can have your custom orthotics back to you by Wednesday!

  • How long do custom foot orthotics last?

    We tell everyone you will get about 5 years use out of them, but they can last much longer.

michelesmOur office verifies all insurances and coverage for orthotics. Many insurances, like Medicare do not cover orthotics unless you are diabetic.

What you get with our orthotics: First you have an evaluation performed by the doctor. Your condition is assessed and treated, the orthotic would be considered a part of your treatment plan. If orthotics are indicated our doctor will scan your feet and upload your scans into the computer.

Next the doctor creates your orthotic with specialized offloads or extensions needed for your foot condition. This process is not fast and after about 6 hours, your custom devices are finished.

Our devices are custom and for your feet only: This is not like going to one of the shoe stores that "custom fit" you in an over the counter insert and charge you well over $1,000 between shoes and inserts. Don't get me wrong, we think there are lots of great over the counter orthotics and not everyone needs custom inserts. But good over the counter inserts will run you about $75 not $550.

Custom is more expensive, but well worth it: Our office is always transparent in pricing for these devices. This custom insert with a shorter turn around then a traditional orthotic costs $550 and $275 for each additional pair. Most people purchase one pair of orthotics and move them from shoe to shoe but you can always purchase more if you don't like moving them. This is an investment in your feet and it is a custom device made with cutting edge technology. Our doctors are dedicated to work with you to have a perfect fit! .
