I just hurt my foot or ankle! What do I need to do?

Unfortunately, injuries never happen at a convenient time! Do you think you have to go to the Emergency Room if you twist your ankle or drop something heavy on the foot? No, you don't! At the Center for Ankle and Foot Care we have onsite digital X-ray as well as Board Certified Foot Surgeons that love helping get people back on their feet!

Stop waiting in the ER for 9 hours: Come see Us!

  • If you have ever had to sit in the ER you know it can take forever
  • At the Center for Ankle and Foot Care we have 2 full time foot and ankle surgeons
  • On-site digital X-rays
  • A staff that will try their best to accomodate your schedule

What our doctors say

"Lots of times patients who visit the ER first, come into the office after and still need X-rays because the ER X-rays are non weight bearing and sometimes do not show the whole picture of what is going on with the foot"
Dr. Michele McGowan
"Delay of correct care is my number one concern for the patient, the ER does a great job of helping people not die, their job is triage! If you know you just injured your foot, go see the foot doctor, it makes perfect sense. Also, we don't take as long to get you in and treat you, we can be extremely problem focused!"
Dr. Tim Henne

When should I consider something an emergency?

In the simplest terms, if it hurts get in to the Center for Ankle and Foot Care. People often delay care for all different reasons, but if your foot or ankle hurts you should get into the office sooner than later.

Going barefoot and step on something

We have all the tools to help you with that!
Stepping on something and it getting embedded into the bottom of the foot can not be ignored! Many people think this is not a big deal, but sometimes this becomes a major problem that can lead to limb loss. Often, our doctors can take care of this problem the same day.

Ankle Sprain

Very treatable with out going t the ER!
If you twist your ankle and experience swelling and pain, it is a good idea to get an X-ray and make sure it is not broken! , Treatment can be as simple as your typical RICE: rest, ice, compression and elevation but could require a little more attention. This does not have to be an ER visit!

Other common foot problems people go to the ER that they could easily be seen in the office:

Heel Pain
Ingrown Toenails
Wounds
