Sometimes it is difficult to get to the doctor.  Work, kids and life in general can get in the way of us taking care of ourselves.  Not everything we treat can be a telehealth visit. Many times we need to actually touch the patient in podiatry to tell you what is really going on but below we give some examples of where telehealth might be an option for you, at least initially or as a follow up.

Getting Started with Podiatry Telehealth:

  • Are you looking for a Podiatrist but have no time to go to the physical office
  • We have 2 great Podiatrists here at The Center for Ankle and Foot care
  • Book online : you pick the time and day that works for you(after hours telehealth sessions possible for a fee)
  • Receive a link to your Zoom session
  • We accept many insurances and we verify your copay before visit
  • Time of visit you click your link to join visit, pay copay and are connected with the podiatrist
  • No insurance, no problem we have self pay pricing available!

What do I need for the best telehealth visit experience?

  • Cell phone, tablet or desktop computer with a working camera
  • Stable internet connection
  • List of medication
  • List of allergies
  • Thoughtful account of when problem started, how long it has lasted, anything that improves or worsens the problem

michelesm"We understand for some technology can be a challenge. If you have access to a cell phone or tablet this is ideal. A desk top computer will work as well.  We believe telemedicine works best when the doctor can at least see the patient and the area of concern to give a fair assessment. With these technologies we can send a Zoom link so the doctors actually sees your problem.”

Foot Pain?

  • Let our podiatrist help
  • This is probably the most difficult of the telehealth visits with out being able to touch or X-ray the foot
  • Our job is to do no further harm and help you to the best of our abilities
  • This is the visit that may end in telling you it is best to get into the office to get an Xray
  • Our podiatrist can take a thorough history of your foot or ankle problem, prescribe medication electronically to your pharmacy and give treatment protocols especially for problems like plantar fasciitis.

Struggling with Fungal Toenails?

Tim sm"Toenail fungus is extremely difficult to get rid of and there are so many options over the counter that do not work. We can go over all of your options via Telehealth. I like to go over every option for patients so they can be fully informed on what is the best path for them.  We can write for blood work and medication if necessary or schedule the PinPointe Laser in the office after this assessment.

Athletes Foot:

  • Our podiatrist can give a fair assessment of athletes foot via telehealth
  • With your camera on your cell phone or tablet you can show the doctor what the foot looks like
  • Our doctor will either prescribe a medication or give over the counter alternatives that you may not have tried that may work and be more cost effective
