Dr Henne graduated from Saint Mary's College, Minnesota. Dr. McGowan graduated from the Pennsylvania State University. They both continued on to Des Moines Medical University where they completed their doctoral training in podiatry. Dr. Henne and Dr. McGowan then graduated from a Foot, Ankle & Lower Leg Surgical Residency program at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Drs. Henne and McGowan started the Center for Ankle and Foot Care family in 2002 and it has been a part of the Central Florida landscape ever since. They have expanded their practice family with fantastic staff members over the last 21 years and their own family with three amazing children.
As the top podiatry clininc in Clermont and Leesburg, we have 2 convenient locations. Our Clermont podiatry office is close to Winter Garden, Windermere, Groveland, Mascotte, Davenport and Oakland. After 20 years of practicing Dr. McGowan has decided to only focus on conservative care. "Over the years I realized how many of my patients were improving and avoiding surgical intervention with my treatment protocols. I really enjoy helping patients stay on their feet and more importantly avoid the operating room!" Having a Board Certified Podiatrist in Foot surgery treat you has the advantage of her knowning and letting you know when surgery is necessary.
There are times when conservative care is not the answer and surgical decisions need to be made. Dr. McGowan can explain the surgery you will need. Explaining the surgery itself, length of time to perform surgery, post op course and long term outcomes. If you need surgery you will be referred to Dr. Henne.

Unfortunately, sometimes conservative care fails. Dr. Henne, who is Board Certified in Foot, Ankle and Lower Leg Surgery, also treats patients conservatively but is one of the most well trained foot and ankle surgeons in Florida. Dr. Henne is constantly keeping on top of the latest technology and procedures but avoids any fads in foot and ankle surgery. "I am always going to do what is best for my patients, if surgery is necessary we get it done but if they don't need surgery I do not push unnecessary procedures."
